The kids adore it, my husband raves about it, and honestly, I love it too!

The beauty of this dish is its versatility. You can easily customize it to your liking. Feel free to experiment with different types of pasta, add your favorite vegetables, or even use leftover grilled chicken instead of cooking it from scratch. I often add a handful of spinach or mushrooms for an extra boost of nutrients. The key is the rich, creamy sauce – it's what brings everything together. And the best part? It's so easy to make! The whole process takes under 30 minutes, which means more time to spend with my family, not stuck in the kitchen.

It’s about creating a warm and welcoming space for my family to gather, relax, and connect with each other over a plate of delicious pasta.

Tips and Tricks for Success:

  • Prep Ahead: Cut your chicken into bite-sized pieces before you start cooking. This will speed up the cooking time significantly.
  • Don't Overcook the Sauce: Keep a close eye on the sauce while it simmers and stir constantly to prevent scorching.
  • Get Creative with Veggies: Feel free to add other vegetables to the dish, such as spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers.
  • Leftovers are a Bonus: This pasta dish tastes even better the next day! Just add a little extra sauce to reheat.

Step-by-step

    • NOTE: Cut chicken tenders into bite-sized pieces BEFORE cooking for a faster cook time.
    • Boil pasta according to package directions.
    • Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium-high heat, fry bacon. Remove to paper towels to drain. Leave one tablespoon of bacon grease in the pan and add chicken, cooking and stirring until chicken is white, slightly browned and cooked through, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat.
    • In a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, add both jars of sauce and cook, stirring constantly, until sauce is just heated through, about 7 minutes. (IMPORTANT: Be sure to stir the sauce constantly and not overheat it. It WILL scorch).
    • Drain pasta and return to its pan.
    • Crumble bacon.
    • Add chicken and sauce to pasta and stir to combine.
    • Add peas and crumbled bacon.
    • Stir again until well combined.
    • Sprinkle individual servings with green onions.
