My Favorite Waffle Recipe: A Simple, Delicious Treat

As a busy mom, I'm always on the lookout for quick, easy, and delicious recipes that the whole family will enjoy. This waffle recipe has become a staple in our household – it's so simple even my kids can help with the mixing (with a little supervision, of course!). The fluffy, golden-brown waffles are perfect for a weekend brunch, a cozy weeknight dinner, or even a special occasion. The beauty of this recipe lies in its adaptability. Feel free to experiment with different toppings; fresh berries, whipped cream, a drizzle of maple syrup, or even a scoop of ice cream are all fantastic choices.

What makes this recipe truly special is its simplicity. It requires minimal ingredients that are likely already in your pantry. No need for fancy equipment or obscure ingredients; just a basic waffle iron and some everyday staples will do the trick. The process is straightforward: mix the dry ingredients, whisk in the wet ingredients, pour onto the hot waffle iron, and in minutes, you have a stack of warm, delicious waffles ready to devour. The slightly thicker batter ensures fluffy, tender waffles, but don't worry if your batter is a bit runnier; it will still result in delicious waffles, just maybe a bit thinner.

Over the years, this recipe has been a source of comfort and joy for my family. It's more than just a breakfast treat; it's a symbol of togetherness and simple pleasures. The aroma of freshly baked waffles filling the kitchen always brings a smile to our faces, transforming a regular morning into a special occasion. This recipe, initially shared with me years ago, has become deeply personal – representing countless memories of laughter, family gatherings, and the simple satisfaction of creating something delicious together.

The best part about this waffle recipe is its versatility. It's perfect for a casual weekend brunch, a special occasion, or even a quick and easy weeknight dinner. The fluffy, light texture is a welcome change from heavier breakfasts, and the warm, comforting flavor is always a crowd-pleaser. I often make a double batch on the weekends so we can enjoy leftovers throughout the week. They're just as delicious cold or reheated, making them a truly convenient and satisfying meal option.

I encourage you to give this recipe a try. It's incredibly simple, yet incredibly rewarding. The taste is phenomenal, and the ease of preparation makes it an ideal choice for busy weeknights or lazy weekends. It’s a recipe that has become a cornerstone of my family's routine, a comfort food that never disappoints. Don't hesitate to adjust the ingredients to your liking; feel free to experiment with different types of milk, oil, or even add some vanilla extract for an extra touch of flavor. The possibilities are endless!

Beyond the taste and convenience, this recipe holds a special place in my heart. It’s a reminder of simple moments shared with loved ones, the joy of creating something delicious together, and the comforting warmth of a happy kitchen. It’s a tradition I’m excited to pass down to my children. So, gather your ingredients, put on some music, and enjoy the process of making these incredibly delicious waffles. You won’t be disappointed!

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups 2% milk
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Step-by-step

    • Get butter started melting first on the stove in an approved stove top pan or corning ware sauce pan.
    • Remove before it boils!!
    • Add dry ingredients together first and mix well.
    • Then add eggs, milk, melted butter and oil mix well.
    • Beat well, mix is ready to use - consistency should not be like water, but more like between a cake batter and brownie batter - the thicker it is the fluffier the waffles will be - but I don't like big waffles so mine tends to be a bit runnier than most.
