Plus, it's surprisingly simple. I usually do it on the weekend, and then I can portion it out for easy weeknight meals. It saves so much time and money in the long run! The beauty of this recipe is its adaptability; you can easily adjust the spice level and add your favorite toppings. I often add a sprinkle of extra cheese or a dollop of sour cream for an extra creamy kick. It's a truly versatile dish that's perfect for any night of the week.

One of the things I love most about this recipe is how incredibly comforting it is. The ingredients are readily available, and the process is quite straightforward. It's the perfect recipe for anyone who wants to enjoy a homemade, flavorful soup without spending hours in the kitchen. In fact, most of the cooking time is hands-off, allowing you to focus on other tasks while the delicious aromas fill your home. This recipe is more than just a meal; it’s a comforting ritual, a taste of home, a simple pleasure that makes even the most hectic week feel a little bit brighter.

I often make a double batch and freeze half for another night – making meal prep a breeze. There’s nothing quite like opening the freezer and knowing you have a hearty, delicious meal waiting for you. It takes the pressure off planning dinners for the week ahead, allowing you to savor the flavors without the stress. It's a simple act of self-care, a little treat for a busy woman who deserves some delicious, easy meals.

Step-by-step

    • Use a whole frozen chicken with chopped onion, garlic, and Connies Seasoning salt, paprika.
    • Cook in crockpot till done.
    • Then remove bones from chicken, and chop well, return back to broth.
    • May need to add more water and broth. (I thicken broth with a little bit of cornstarch mixture.)
    • Also you may need to add a chicken bouillon currently enrolled to the broth.
    • NOTE: if you are making your own broth like I do you won't need to use the canned chicken broth. If you are using canned chicken then you will need to use canned broth.
