Simply Sinful Cinnamon Muffins
I cant say enough good things about these cinnamon muffins. The muffin itself is really good – its actually more like a coffee cake than a muffin, and the cinnamon chips sprinkled throughout are a great addition. But what really makes these muffins stand out is the rich and gooey cinnamon filling. Im only sorry I didnt get a picture of the inside of one of these for you to see! You mix together melted butter, sugar and cinnamon and insert it into the center of each muffin before you bake it. The end result is a muffin that is incredibly rich and full of cinnamon flavor. I made these muffins for a Sunday School snack last week and they were definitely popular. Beware: this is no way a healthy recipe! But sometimes you need a sinful cinnamon muffin in your life.

Simply Sinful Cinnamon Muffins: A Baker's Confession

As a busy mom of three, my life often revolves around school runs, soccer practice, and the never-ending cycle of laundry. Finding time for myself, let alone baking elaborate desserts, feels like a luxury. But every now and then, a craving hits – a desperate need for something sweet, comforting, and utterly delicious. That's where these Simply Sinful Cinnamon Muffins come in.

These aren't your average muffins. Oh no, these are something special. Think less fluffy breakfast staple and more decadent coffee cake, bursting with warm cinnamon and a gooey, irresistible filling that practically melts in your mouth. The secret? A simple mixture of melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon, swirled into the center of each muffin before baking. The result is a symphony of textures and flavors – a tender, crumbly muffin, a burst of gooey cinnamon goodness, and the perfect balance of sweetness and spice.

The aroma alone is enough to transport you to a cozy kitchen on a chilly autumn afternoon. It's the kind of scent that lingers in the air long after the muffins are gone, leaving a warm, comforting memory in its place. I first made these for a Sunday school bake sale – a desperate attempt to contribute something beyond store-bought cookies. Let me tell you, they were a hit! Gone in minutes, they disappeared faster than I could refill the platter. And the compliments? Well, let's just say they were almost as sweet as the muffins themselves.

Beyond the Bake Sale: A Treat for the Soul

While I wouldn't call these muffins a health food – they are undeniably rich and decadent – they are more than just a sweet treat. They are a reminder to take a moment for myself, to indulge in the simple pleasure of baking, and to share that joy with others. The process itself, from measuring out the ingredients to the satisfying aroma filling the kitchen, is therapeutic. It’s a chance to disconnect from the chaos of daily life and focus on the creation of something beautiful, something delicious, something that brings a smile to my face (and the faces of my loved ones).

The act of baking is a celebration, a small rebellion against the ordinary, and these muffins are a perfect example. Their richness, their warmth, their irresistible cinnamon-y goodness—they are a reminder that even in the busiest of lives, there's always room for a little bit of simple, sinful indulgence. And sometimes, that's exactly what we need.

So, go ahead, embrace the chaos of the kitchen. Gather your ingredients, preheat your oven, and let the sweet aroma of cinnamon transport you to a place of calm and deliciousness. Believe me, you won't regret it. These muffins are guaranteed to bring a little bit of joy and a lot of deliciousness to your day. They’re perfect for a cozy morning, an afternoon pick-me-up, or a special occasion – or just because you deserve it.

The magic of these muffins lies in their simplicity. The ingredients are readily available, the process is straightforward, and the result is breathtaking. Step-by-step

    • Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a 12-cup muffin pan and set aside.
    • For the topping: Mix the ingredients together until crumbly. Set aside.
    • For the filling: Mix all ingredients together and set aside.
    • For the batter: Whisk the melted butter, milk, and eggs together in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients, including the cinnamon chips. Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
    • Divide half the batter evenly among the muffin cups. Place ~2 teaspoons of the filling onto each muffin, then top with the remaining batter. Sprinkle with topping and press it in lightly.
    • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove them from the oven, and wait 5 minutes before transferring them from the pan to a rack to cool.
