The secret to this soup, I believe, lies in the slow simmering. That gentle cooking allows the flavors of the chicken, vegetables, and herbs to meld beautifully, creating a deep and complex broth that's truly unforgettable. I always use a whole organic chicken – the flavor difference is remarkable. And don't skimp on the herbs! A generous helping of herbes de Provence adds a delightful touch of sophistication, enhancing the overall taste experience. The smoked pork hock adds depth and richness to the broth; it's a touch of magic that elevates the soup from ordinary to extraordinary.

My children, of course, adore this soup. It's become a family staple, a meal that everyone looks forward to. I've even shared it with friends and neighbors, and it's always a huge hit.
