Mega Mint Tea
Always refreshing. Great with Orange mint or lemon mint also. I planted orange mint last year and of all my mint varieties, it's become my favorite. I am about out of what I dried, so I was happy to see it sprouting yesterday. If you like it sweet, add sugar, or truvia when boiling the water, and if you like the tipsy version, add any of your favorite liqueurs, fruit flavored, or a nice bourbon, or some half and half and a little kahlua is refreshing in iced tea also.

My Refreshing Mega Mint Tea Recipe

My Favorite Summer Drink: Mega Mint Tea

Summer is in full swing, and what better way to beat the heat than with a tall glass of iced tea? But not just any iced tea – my Mega Mint Tea! I’ve always been a fan of iced tea, but this recipe elevates it to a whole new level of refreshing deliciousness. It all started last year when I decided to plant orange mint in my garden. Of all the herbs I tried, the orange mint quickly became my absolute favorite. Its vibrant, slightly citrusy aroma and refreshing taste just can't be beat. Now, I’m constantly looking for ways to incorporate it into my favorite dishes and drinks, and this tea is the perfect example.

This recipe is so simple, anyone can make it. The key ingredient, beyond the delicious orange mint, is good quality tea. I prefer Lipton Family Size Tea Bags – they consistently deliver a strong, flavorful brew. I’ve experimented with other brands, but nothing quite compares to the rich, balanced taste of Lipton. The combination of the strong tea base with the bright, slightly sweet orange mint is incredible. It's the perfect balance of flavor that never gets cloying.

I often find myself making a big batch of this tea on weekends. It’s perfect for relaxing on the patio, catching up with friends, or simply enjoying a quiet moment to myself. The beautiful thing about this recipe is its versatility. You can easily adjust the sweetness to your preference; a touch of sugar or a sugar substitute like Truvia works wonders. For a more grown-up version, you can even add a splash of your favorite liqueur! A fruity liqueur is delightful, or if you prefer something more sophisticated, bourbon or a creamy combination of half-and-half and Kahlua adds a luxurious touch. The possibilities are endless!

The best part is how easy it is to make. Simply steep the tea bags and mint leaves in boiling water, let it brew, remove the tea bags and mint, add ice water, and chill until ready to serve. It's that simple! I often make a large pitcher, storing it in the refrigerator for easy access throughout the week. It’s the perfect beverage for those hot summer days when you need a refreshing drink that's both flavorful and satisfying.

Beyond the taste, this tea holds a special place in my heart. It represents a moment of peace and relaxation amidst the busyness of daily life. The simple act of brewing a cup of this tea is a small ritual I cherish, a way to pause, breathe, and appreciate the small joys of life. The fragrant steam rising from the mug, the cool sip on a warm day – these are the moments that make life worth savoring. So, I invite you to try my Mega Mint Tea recipe. I'm confident it will quickly become one of your favorite go-to drinks.

Beyond the Recipe:

This recipe reminds me of lazy summer afternoons spent in the garden, surrounded by the intoxicating scent of herbs and flowers. I often find myself daydreaming while tending to my plants, the gentle buzz of bees a calming soundtrack to my work. The orange mint, with its vibrant leaves and bright aroma, has become a symbol of this peaceful time. It’s a constant reminder that even amidst the chaos of daily life, there's always time to appreciate the simple things, like a perfectly brewed cup of tea and the beauty of nature.

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do! Let me know in the comments how you liked it, and feel free to share your own variations. Happy brewing!
