Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup mushroom sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger grated
  • 3 clove garlic
  • 3 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup light soy sauce
  • 1 tbs corn starch
  • 1 1/2 lbs braising beef (cut into chunks and all visible fat removed)
  • 4 each green onion chopped
  • 1 each red chile chopped
  • 1 each red pepper chopped
  • 4-5 tbsp dark soy sauce

Step-by-step

    • Place the meat in a zip lock bag, add the cornstarch and give a good shake to evenly coat (the cornstarch is what will lightly thicken the sauce as it cooks).
    • Add the meat and all other ingredients to the slow cooker, set to the low (8 hour) cooking time and viola, this lovely delicious dish will be ready to serve by dinner time.
    • Top with some freshly chopped spring onion.
    • Serve with some quickly stir fried fresh veggies of your choice and sticky jasmine rice (if on Extra Easy).
