My Banana Supreme Dessert: A Simple Yet Elegant Treat

As a busy working mom, I'm always on the lookout for desserts that are both delicious and easy to make. This Banana Supreme dessert fits the bill perfectly! It's elegant enough to impress guests at a dinner party, yet simple enough for a weeknight treat. The best part? It's incredibly versatile. You can easily swap out the fruits and jellies to match your preferences and what's in season. I’ve made this countless times with different combinations of fruits and it always turns out beautifully.

The base of the dessert is layers of creamy yogurt sweetened with condensed milk, juicy banana slices, and vibrant jelly cubes. The contrasting textures and flavors create a symphony in your mouth. The sweetness of the condensed milk perfectly complements the subtle tartness of the yogurt, while the bananas add a touch of natural sweetness and moisture. The jellies provide a burst of color and a delightful chewy texture. It's a true sensory experience that leaves everyone wanting more.

I love how adaptable this recipe is. One time, I used mango instead of bananas, and it was a tropical paradise in a bowl! Another time, I experimented with different flavored jellies – lime, orange, and even a mix of berries – and each version was uniquely delicious. The possibilities are endless! Feel free to get creative and personalize it to your liking. You can use any type of yogurt you prefer, and if you want a richer flavor, you can add a touch of vanilla extract or even a sprinkle of cinnamon.

The beauty of this dessert is also in its presentation. The layering process allows for a beautiful visual appeal. I often arrange the jelly cubes and pour the syrup and condensed milk in decorative patterns, making it a stunning centerpiece for any gathering. It's a dessert that looks as good as it tastes, which is always a plus in my book! It's the perfect combination of elegance and simplicity, which is what I strive for in my cooking, especially when time is of the essence.

I often find myself making this dessert for potlucks and gatherings. It’s always a huge hit, and people are always surprised by how easy it is to make. The compliments I receive always remind me of the joy of creating something beautiful and delicious without spending hours in the kitchen. It’s a dessert that represents my approach to life – balancing simplicity and sophistication.

Beyond its deliciousness and ease of preparation, this Banana Supreme dessert is a great way to use up leftover fruit. If you have some ripe bananas that are starting to brown, or leftover jelly from another recipe, this dessert is the perfect solution! It's a fantastic way to reduce food waste and create something delicious in the process. This recipe is also perfect for making ahead of time. You can prepare the layers the day before and refrigerate it, allowing the flavors to meld and intensify overnight. That makes it an ideal choice for entertaining guests or busy schedules.

So, next time you’re looking for a simple yet elegant dessert that’s sure to impress, give my Banana Supreme recipe a try. You won’t be disappointed. The versatility, ease of preparation, and delicious results make it a go-to dessert in my home, and I’m confident it will become a favorite in yours as well. The joy of cooking, for me, comes from creating moments of happiness and sharing delicious food with loved ones. And this dessert, I believe, embodies that perfectly.

Whether you’re a seasoned baker or a beginner in the kitchen, this recipe is approachable and adaptable. It’s a wonderful way to showcase fresh fruit and simple ingredients, resulting in a dessert that's as beautiful as it is tasty. So go ahead, gather your ingredients, and embark on a culinary journey filled with sweetness and satisfaction. Remember to adjust the sweetness and fruit combinations to perfectly suit your palate.

I hope you enjoy this Banana Supreme dessert as much as I do! Happy baking!

Step-by-step

    • Prepare all the jell-o according to the packet instructions. After they have been properly made, cut them into cubes during dessert preparation times.
    • Mix one cup of yogurt with 3-4 tbsp. of condensed milk. Make sure the yogurt mixture is sweet; if not, mix more condensed milk.
    • In a wide, open serving dish, cut 6-7 thin whole slices of bananas onto the bottom of the dish.
    • Pour the yogurt mixture onto the bananas until the slices are covered.
    • Top 1/3 of each 3 jelly cubes on the yogurt in design forms, if desired.
    • Pour the strawberry syrup in circular forms onto the yogurt.
    • Pour the condensed milk in circular forms onto the jell-o, similar to the syrup.
    • Repeat the steps from step 3 (bananas), until the bowl is filled to top.
    • Garnish the final top with the remaining ingredients plus extra fruit (if desired) and design the top with condensed milk in lattice form.
