Tips for Baking Success:

Brownie Base: Don’t be afraid to experiment with your favorite brownie recipe. The key is to ensure your brownies are fully cooled before adding the toppings. This prevents them from becoming soggy.

Caramel Topping: Be careful when melting the caramels in the microwave. The mixture can become very hot quickly, so it's essential to monitor it closely and stir regularly.

Peanut Butter Topping: The consistency of this topping should be thick and spreadable. If it's too thin, add a little more powdered sugar.

Chocolate Drizzle: The beauty of this final step is its simplicity. A simple drizzle of melted chocolate elevates the dessert to a whole new level. Feel free to use your favorite type of chocolate.

Presentation: While the taste is undoubtedly the star of the show, don't underestimate the power of presentation. A beautifully arranged plate of brownies can elevate the entire experience. I often cut my brownies into small squares for easy serving and portion control.

Sharing is Caring: One of my favorite things about baking is sharing my creations with others. These brownies are a perfect treat to bring to a potluck, share with neighbors, or simply enjoy with your loved ones. The act of sharing enhances the joy of baking.

Beyond the Kitchen: Baking isn't just about the final product; it's about the journey. It's about the process of creating something from scratch, the satisfaction of transforming simple ingredients into something delicious. It's a mindful activity that allows me to connect with my inner self and escape the everyday hustle.

So, go ahead, try this recipe. Let the aroma of baking fill your kitchen, and let the taste of these incredible brownies transport you to a place of sweet relaxation and joy. And remember, life is too short for boring desserts. Embrace the delicious adventures that await you in your kitchen.

Step-by-step

    • Bake your 9X13 brownie mix or recipe according to directions. If you are using the Stop-Looking Brownie recipe do not mix in the last cup of chocolate chips before baking.
    • Cool brownies completely.
    • In a microwaveable safe bowl place caramels and milk and heat on high for about 1 1/2 - 2 minutes, stopping to stir intermittently.
    • Remove immediately just after caramels are almost smooth.
    • Pour in chopped pecans, mix, and scoop in spoonfuls over brownies immediately. TIP: Use a piece of waxed paper greased with cooking spray to press down and spread. Don't worry if it doesn't cover brownies completely, you'll be covering it with other layers.
    • For the peanut butter topping, beat all ingredients together in a medium bowl until well mixed (will be very thick).
    • Scoop spoonfuls of peanut butter topping all over turtle topping.
    • Press and spread the peanut butter topping gently using fingers.
    • In another microwaveable safe bowl place chocolate chips and vegetable oil.
    • Melt on high for about 1 minute, stirring occasionally until chocolate is about melted and smooth.
    • Pour over peanut butter layer and smooth with offset spatula.
    • Sprinkle with course sea salt or fleur de sel, if desired.
