TBC's 5-Way Meatlovers Pizza
This is just a beast of a pizza. Thick, meaty, cheesy, just a wonderful filling slice of Heaven! I suggest using 2 Pilsbury pizza doughs and combining them, or any large pizza dough, fresh, that you can stretch out to medium size to keep the base thick enough to hold the toppings.

Weeknights are a blur of school pick-ups, homework help, and the never-ending cycle of laundry. But even amidst the chaos, I crave those moments of comfort and indulgence, those meals that remind me of simpler times and bring my family together. That's where this recipe comes in – a hearty, meat-lover’s pizza that's surprisingly easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser.

Forget the thin-crust, delicate pizzas you might find at a fancy restaurant. This is a pizza built for substance, a pizza that doesn't shy away from bold flavors and generous toppings. The secret lies in the crust – thick, chewy, and capable of supporting a mountain of savory goodness. I've experimented with various doughs, and I find that using two Pilsbury pizza crusts (combined and stretched) or a single large, fresh dough works best. This creates a base substantial enough to hold the abundance of meaty toppings without becoming soggy.

The topping selection is where this pizza truly shines. We’re talking a symphony of flavors: succulent ground beef, spicy Italian sausage, crispy bacon, savory ham, and spicy pepperoni. Each bite is an adventure, a rollercoaster of textures and tastes. The rich tomato sauce forms the perfect base, binding all the components together. And, of course, no meat-lover’s pizza is complete without a generous helping of mozzarella and Romano cheese, creating that satisfying, melty stretch with every bite.

This pizza isn't just a meal; it’s an experience. The aroma alone, wafting through the house as it bakes, is enough to make your mouth water. It's the type of pizza that sparks conversations around the dinner table, where family members share stories and laughter over each juicy, cheesy slice. It's a reminder that even amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life, there's always time for a little bit of culinary indulgence. And honestly, the cleanup is surprisingly manageable, thanks to the sturdy crust, which prevents much spillage and mess.

The best part? This pizza recipe is incredibly versatile. Feel free to experiment with your favorite meats and cheeses. Add some mushrooms or peppers for an extra burst of flavor. Make it your own! Step-by-step

    • The dough for this pizza is not important; however, what is important is if you use a pre-packaged dough, do not roll it out, knead it back into form, punch it out, and stretch and shape it into a round or square pizza about double the thickness of a normal pie. ANOTHER OPTION is to use 2 pre-packed pizza doughs and roll one out on top of the other, then use a rolling pin and mesh them together. ONE large pizza dough (frozen or fresh) will make a medium pie. This is extremely thick, so you need to have a base. Will make about 6 slices enough for 3.
    • Preheat oven to 400°F.
    • Heat oil in a medium pan over medium heat. Add beef and sausage, saute until browned, about 5-6 minutes, remove from heat and drain.
    • Roll out dough onto a pizza round or cookie sheet. DO NOT GREASE. Bake for 4 minutes, then remove from oven.
    • Using a large spoon or ladle, evenly spread sauce over the entire pie.
    • Then add the drained sausage/beef mixture, and 3/4 each of the bacon, ham, pepperoni, and spread evenly across the pie.
    • Add 1 1/2 cups of mozzarella cheese, spread evenly across the pie.
    • Sprinkle with garlic (or minced garlic), parsley, oregano, and red pepper flake. Then add the remaining 1/4 reserved pepperoni, bacon, and ham, top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
    • Sprinkle pie with Romano cheese and bake for 12-17 minutes until the crust is golden brown. Remove from oven, and let cool for 3-4 minutes before slicing.
    • Slice into 6 pieces and serve 2 slices per serving. Serve with extra hot pepper flakes and Romano cheese.
