  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • whipped cream for topping
  • 3 medium bananas
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 2 cups crushed vanilla wafer cookies
  • 1 teaspoon banana extract
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch

Step-by-step

    • In a large bowl combine 1/2 cup sugar, the flour, cornstarch and salt. Mix together.

    • Stir in 1/2 cup milk.
    • Heat 2 1/2 cups of milk in a medium sauce pan, when the milk is warm whisk in the sugar and egg mixture.
    • Cook on medium heat, uncovered until thick. This should take about 10 minutes. Mine normally doesn't thicken up until it reaches 9 minutes and 30 seconds.
    • Remove from heat and add in 1 teaspoon of banana flavoring, Stir well.
    • Peel and slice bananas.
    • Place three jars on (or serving dishes) on a flat surface.
    • Alternate layers of cookies, pudding, bananas and caramel until jars are filled.
    • Place jars into fridge until cold. (or serve it hot)
    • Top with whipped cream.
