As a housewife, I cherish the tradition of preparing special dishes for my loved ones, especially during festive occasions. Wendy's Family Chopped Liver holds a dear place in our family gatherings, bringing a nostalgic touch to our celebrations.

This recipe, passed down through generations, is a delightful blend of flavors and textures. The perfect balance of hard-boiled eggs, sautéed onions, and savory liver creates a harmonious symphony in your mouth. The simplicity of the ingredients belies the complexity of flavors that emerge with each bite. As I carefully follow the steps of this treasured recipe, I feel a profound connection to my family's culinary heritage.

For me, cooking is not merely a chore but a labor of love. The act of chopping, sautéing, and mixing each ingredient transforms my kitchen into a sanctuary of culinary creativity. As I meticulously prepare this dish, the aroma of sizzling onions fills the air, inviting my family to gather around the table. The anticipation of sharing this culinary delight with them fills me with warmth and contentment.

As we savor each spoonful, the chopped liver becomes more than just a dish. It becomes a bridge that connects us to our past and to each other. It is a testament to the loving hands that have passed down this tradition through the years. And as I witness the joy on my family's faces, I realize that Wendy's Family Chopped Liver is more than just a recipe; it is a symbol of love, togetherness, and the enduring bonds that define our family.

Step-by-step

    • Chop the eggs in the food processor and remove to a large enough bowl to hold and hand mix all ingredients.
    • Chop onions in food processor and put into a heated pan with the chicken fat and fry, stirring frequently to prevent burning, until well browned, but not burnt. Remove to bowl with eggs.
    • While onions are cooking, salt liver(s) lightly and broil turning once and watching to prevent burning. Remove to food processor and chop - NOT FINELY-, remove to bowl with eggs and onions including all the fat drippings.
    • Add salt and pepper and mix very well so eggs kind of disappear. If you like you can add more chicken fat at this point. Taste and correct seasonings. Chill, serve with crackers, on bread or as a salad on lettuce surrounded by tomatoes, peppers, radishes, cukes, or whatever you like. Suitable for either a first course or a light salad meal.
