As a housewife, I'm always looking for quick and easy recipes that my family will enjoy. This Vietnamese stir fry, Thit Bo Xao Dau, is one of our favorites. It's made with sirloin tips, green beans, and a simple sauce that's packed with flavor. Plus, it's ready in under 30 minutes, which makes it perfect for busy weeknights.

The key to this dish is getting the beef nice and brown. To do this, make sure your wok or skillet is very hot before adding the meat. Once the beef is browned, set it aside and cook the vegetables. This will help to keep the beef tender and juicy.

Once the vegetables are cooked, add the beef back to the wok and stir in the sauce. Cook for a few more minutes, or until the beef is heated through. Serve over rice or noodles, and enjoy!

Step-by-step

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine garlic, black pepper, cornstarch, and 1 teaspoon vegetable oil. Add beef, mix well. Set aside.
    • In large wok (or large skillet) heat 2 tablespoons oil over high heat for one minute. Add meat; cook and stir for about 2 minutes, or until beef begins to brown. Transfer beef to large bowl, and set aside.
    • Heat remaining 1 tablespoon oil in wok. Add onion; cook and stir until tender. Mix in green beans, and add broth. Cover, and reduce heat to medium. Simmer for 4 to 5 minutes, or until beans are tender crisp. Stir in soy sauce and beef. Cook, stirring constantly, for 1 to 2 minutes, or until heated through.
