I was so excited to try this recipe because I love ribs and I'm always looking for new ways to cook them. I've tried a lot of different recipes over the years, but this one is definitely my favorite. The ribs are so tender and flavorful, and the sauce is just perfect.

I started by cutting the ribs into serving size pieces and placing them in a Dutch oven. Then I covered them with water and added salt, pepper, and liquid smoke (optional). I brought the mixture to a boil, then reduced the heat and simmered for 1-1/4 hours. After the ribs were cooked, I drained them and transferred them to the grill.

I grilled the ribs over medium heat, basting them with the sauce several times. I cooked them for about 8-10 minutes, or until they were tender and well-glazed. The ribs were so delicious that I couldn't stop eating them! I'm definitely going to be making this recipe again and again.

Step-by-step

    • Cut ribs into serving size pieces; place in a Dutch oven and cover with water. Add salt, pepper and 1 teaspoon liquid smoke if desired; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1-1/4 hours or until ribs are just tender. Do not overcook.
    • Meanwhile, combine barbecue sauces, ketchup, honey and remaining liquid smoke if desired.
    • Drain ribs and transfer to grill. Grill, uncovered, over medium heat, basting both sides several times with sauce, for 8-10 minutes or until ribs are tender and well-glazed.
