Ground Beef Pizza
This is my kind of favorite pizza. I have not tried this one but it is almost the same as the one I did without any recipe. This is from the issue of November 2005, Coup de Pouce. ETA: I made it on July 24, 2011. I used 1 lb of lean ground beef and a store-bought dough. I made this pizza sauce: recipe 460241. I added chopped red bell pepper. DH said 10 stars and he didnt know it was my recipe.

My Go-To Weeknight Dinner: Ground Beef Pizza

As a busy working mom, finding quick and easy meals that the whole family enjoys is a constant quest. There's nothing worse than spending an hour in the kitchen only to have half the food go uneaten. That's why I’ve perfected this simple ground beef pizza recipe – it's a lifesaver on those hectic weeknights! It's incredibly versatile; you can easily adjust the toppings to suit everyone's preferences, and cleanup is a breeze. The best part? It tastes just as good, if not better, than takeout pizza, and I know exactly what ingredients are going into my family's meal.

The secret to this pizza’s amazing flavor lies in the simple ground beef mixture. I always use lean ground beef for a healthier option, but you can use any kind you prefer. The addition of onion, garlic, and oregano adds a depth of flavor that elevates the whole pizza to another level. I often add other vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms, depending on what’s in season and what my family is craving. And of course, no pizza is complete without plenty of melted cheese! I generally use a mix of cheddar and mozzarella, but feel free to experiment with your favorite blends.

I've tried countless pizza recipes over the years, from elaborate gourmet creations to simple, last-minute throw-togethers. But this ground beef pizza recipe is a perennial favorite for its simplicity and delicious results. It’s the perfect balance of savory and cheesy, and it always seems to bring smiles to everyone's faces around the dinner table. The fact that I can have a hot, delicious pizza ready in under 30 minutes makes it a true winner in my book.

Beyond the convenience, this recipe allows for flexibility. You can adapt it to your dietary needs. If you're avoiding dairy, you can substitute the cheese with a vegan alternative. If you're looking for a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free pizza dough. The possibilities are endless! The beauty of a good recipe is that it provides a foundation for creativity – you can build upon it, experimenting with flavors and toppings to make it uniquely your own.

So, whether you're a seasoned pizza chef or a complete beginner, this recipe is a must-try. It's simple enough for a weeknight meal yet delicious enough to impress guests. It’s a testament to the idea that sometimes the simplest recipes yield the most satisfying results, especially when you're short on time but don’t want to compromise on flavor. The ease of preparation and the customizable nature of this recipe make it a true kitchen staple for busy individuals and families alike. Give it a try – you won’t be disappointed!

One of the most rewarding aspects of cooking is sharing delicious food with loved ones. Seeing my family happily tucking into this homemade pizza is always the best part of my day. It’s a little moment of happiness that reminds me of the importance of taking time for simple pleasures and creating memories around the dinner table.

This recipe isn't just about the pizza itself; it's about the joy of creating something delicious and sharing it with people you care about. Step-by-step

    • In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper at medium-high heat, stirring from time to time, 3 to 5 minutes or until beef is no longer pink.
    • Drain any fat. Set aside.
    • On a lightly floured surface, lower the dough in a circle of 12 inches in diameter.
    • Put on a greased pizza plate.
    • Spread sauce on the pizza dough.
    • Garnish with beef preparation and sprinkle with cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
    • Cook on the lowest grill in a preheated oven of 500 F for about 10 minutes or until cheese is bubbling and crust is golden and slightly inflated.
