Oh My, Salmon Pie!

Oh My, Salmon Pie!
Yea, I know what some of you are thinking, "Salmon Pie? Are you kidding me?" Nope. I was, too. But I love it. The best way to eat this is to cut a piece of the pie, cut it in half through the middle horizontally, fold it open and put some ketchup on it....yea, ketchup. Great for left overs, just reheat in the micro.

Have you ever thought of trying a salmon pie? I know, it sounds strange, but trust me, it's amazing! I was a little hesitant myself when I first heard about it, but I'm so glad I decided to give it a try. It's one of my favorite dishes now, and I'm always looking for an excuse to make it. The best thing about it is that it's incredibly easy to make. Plus, you only need a handful of ingredients, so you may already have everything you need!

The first time I made this pie, I used a store-bought pie crust. However, I recently started making my own pie crusts, and they are so much better. I highly recommend giving it a try if you have some extra time. The vodka pie crust recipe that I use is foolproof, and it always comes out perfect. Once you have your pie crust ready, simply combine the salmon, potatoes, onions, and butter in a bowl and mix well. Then, pour the mixture into your pie crust and bake until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. So, next time you're looking for a delicious and easy meal, give this salmon pie a try. You won't be disappointed!

Step-by-step

    • PEEL, CUT AND BOIL POTATOES UNTIL TENDER.
    • MELT STICK OF BUTTER IN PAN AND SAUTE ONIONS UNTIL TRANSLUCENT.
    • ONCE YOU DRAIN THE POTATOES, YOU PUT THEM BACK INTO THE POT, ADD THE ONION AND BUTTER MIXTURE. SEASON WITH SALT AND PEPPER, ADD THE SALMON, MIX O COMBINE.
    • PLACE ONE OF THE PIE CRUST LAYERS INTO A PIE DISH.
    • PLACE SALMON MIXTURE IN DISH AND COVER WITH REMAINING PIE CRUST DOUGH.
    • BAKE AT 400 UNTIL PIE CRUST IS BROWN, ABOUT 40-50 MINUTES.
    • REMOVE FROM OVEN AND LET SIT FOR 5 MINUTES BEFORE CUTTING AND SERVING.
