Today, I'm excited to share my favorite recipe for a quick and delicious meal: Beer and Onion Brats. This flavorful dish is perfect for a busy weeknight or a casual weekend gathering.

The secret to this recipe is in the combination of beer and onions. The beer adds a unique and slightly bitter flavor to the bratwurst, while the onions provide a sweet and savory balance. The result is a juicy and flavorful bratwurst that everyone will love.

Step-by-step

    • Chop the onion and green pepper. (I use orange pepper). Add all of the pepper, and half of the onion and pan fry for a few minutes until tender. Remove from heat.
    • Add the beer, water, remaining onion, and bratwurst to a large pot and boil. Cook for approximately ten minutes, or until the bratwurst turn white and float. Remove from heat. (Use a beer that has a strong hoppy flavor.)
    • Add the sauerkraut to a small pot and warm.
    • Grill the bratwurst for a few minutes on each side on high heat, or until browned with grill marks.
    • Add the sauerkraut, pepper, and onion to the brat and serve. If preferred, place on a bun with mustard and ketchup as well.
