As a home cook, I'm always looking for new and exciting recipes to try. When I came across Grandma's Good Lime Jello, I was immediately intrigued. The combination of pineapple and cottage cheese sounded like a match made in heaven, and I couldn't wait to give it a try.

I'm so glad I did! This jello dessert is absolutely delicious. It's the perfect balance of sweet and tangy, and the cottage cheese adds a wonderful creaminess. I especially love the nutty flavor that the walnuts add. This dessert is so easy to make, too. It's the perfect treat for a summer party or potluck.

Step-by-step

    • Use the pineapple juice (set aside the pineapple)and enough water to make 2 1/2 cups.
    • Heat this mixture to a boil then add jello.
    • Chill until slightly thickened- maybe one hour.
    • Then add remaining ingredients (pineapple, cottage cheese, mayonaise and salt all mixed together)and pour into a mold.
    • Chill, then top with your choice of nuts.
