Cinnamon Flop

This is my mom's recipe that I have not been able to find anywhere else. We grew up eating it with chili. It's a simple but delicious dessert that is perfect for a cold winter day. The cinnamon and brown sugar topping is especially addictive.

To make cinnamon flop, you will need the following ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add the flour and baking powder, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Beat until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into a 9x13 inch baking dish that has been greased and floured.
  5. In a small bowl, melt the 1/2 cup butter. Pour it evenly over the batter.
  6. In another small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle it evenly over the melted butter.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Serve warm and enjoy!
