I decided to make it for my family to try. After making it, I realized just how tasty and simple it is to prepare. I wasn't sure how my family would enjoy it, but it turns out that they love it. My daughter even requested that I make it for her birthday!

I've always been a fan of pumpkin bread, but I've never made it myself. I decided to make this recipe because it seemed easy enough, and I'm glad I did. The bread turned out moist and flavorful, with a perfect balance of spices. I'll definitely be making this again soon.

The only change I made to the recipe was that I omitted the walnuts. I don't like nuts in my pumpkin bread, but if you do, they would be a great addition. I also used a 9x13 inch baking pan instead of three loaf pans. The bread baked up perfectly in the larger pan, and I didn't have to worry about it overflowing.

Step-by-step

    • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease three 7 1/2 x 3 1/2-inch loaf pans.
    • In a large mixing bowl combine the flour, soda, salt, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice. Stir well. Add applesauce, eggs, pumpkin, and water. Mix batter until well combined. Stir in nuts.
    • Pour batter into prepared pans.
    • Bake until tester inserted in the center of each loaf comes out clean, 50 to 60 minutes.
