As a housewife, I'm always looking for easy and delicious recipes that I can make for my family. This hummus recipe is one of my favorites because it's so simple to make and it's always a hit with everyone. I love using my Vitamix to make this hummus because it makes it so smooth and creamy. But I'm sure it would work just as well in most high-powered blenders.

Here are a few tips for making the best hummus:

  • Be sure to use canned chickpeas that have been drained and rinsed. This will help to prevent the hummus from being too watery.
  • If you want a smoother hummus, you can peel the chickpeas before blending them. This is a bit of extra work, but it's worth it if you want a really smooth hummus.
  • Add more lemon juice or tahini to taste. I like my hummus to be a bit tangy, so I usually add a bit more lemon juice than the recipe calls for. You can also add more tahini if you want a thicker hummus.
  • Serve the hummus with your favorite toppings. I like to serve it with pita bread, vegetables, or crackers.

Step-by-step

    • Place all ingredients in Vitamix container in order listed.
    • Secure lid. Select Variable speed #1. Turn on machine and quickly increase speed to #10. then to High.
    • Run machine for 1 minute or until smooth. If necessary, use the tamper to push the ingredients into the blades while processing.
