- 1 1/2 sticks (12 tbsp) unsalted butter

- 4 eggs whites separated from the yolks
- 1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons irish whiskey (may sub water)
- 1 teaspoon loose leaf earl grey tea (optional)
