Zan's Baked Chicken Wings

This is my sweet glazed version of chicken wings. I like to do this sometimes instead of buffalo wings. Used regular chicken wings instead of the usual drumettes and doubled my recipe. This is a quick meal...doesn't require a lot of prep work or time, and you bake the wings in the oven. So good!!

Zan's Baked Chicken Wings: A Quick and Delicious Recipe

Zan's Baked Chicken Wings: A Simple Weeknight Delight

As a busy working mom, I'm always on the lookout for quick and easy recipes that don't compromise on flavor. This recipe for Zan's Baked Chicken Wings has become a staple in my household. It’s a delicious alternative to the classic buffalo wings, offering a sweet and savory glaze that the whole family loves. The best part? Minimal prep time and cleanup! Forget spending hours slaving over a hot stove; this recipe is all about oven-baked simplicity, making it perfect for those weeknights when time is precious.

The beauty of this recipe lies in its versatility. You can easily adjust the amount of honey or brown sugar to customize the sweetness to your liking. Feel free to experiment with different spices too! I often add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a subtle kick. The chicken wings themselves are incredibly forgiving; you can use any part of the wing – drumsticks, flats, or a mix – depending on your preference. I personally love using a mix to get a good variety of textures and flavors. But for this specific recipe I used regular chicken wings, and doubled the recipe to feed my family.

One of the things I appreciate most about this recipe is the ease of preparation. The glaze comes together quickly, and the chicken only requires a simple toss in the seasoning before baking. No complicated techniques or special equipment required, just good old-fashioned oven baking. The result is succulent, tender chicken wings with a perfectly balanced sweet and savory glaze. It's a guaranteed crowd-pleaser, whether you're serving it as a family dinner, a game-day snack, or a casual get-together with friends.

The Glaze: A Sweet and Savory Symphony

The star of this recipe is undoubtedly the glaze. The combination of soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and brown sugar creates a complex and deeply flavorful coating that perfectly complements the chicken. The soy sauce adds a savory depth, while the honey provides the perfect amount of sweetness. The garlic and ginger add aromatic notes, further enhancing the overall flavor profile. And that touch of brown sugar adds an extra dimension of caramelized sweetness to each bite.

Baking for Perfection

Baking the wings ensures that they are cooked through evenly and develop a beautiful, crispy exterior. I line my baking sheet with foil to make cleanup a breeze. Simply place the coated wings on the sheet and bake until they are golden brown and perfectly cooked through. It's always a good idea to use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches a safe internal temperature.

Serving Suggestions

These chicken wings are delicious on their own, but you can certainly dress them up even more. I often serve them with a side of fries, coleslaw, or a simple green salad. They also pair wonderfully with various dipping sauces, from ranch dressing to a spicy sriracha mayo. Let your creativity guide you!
