Step-by-step

  • Add soy sauce, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic and green onion to a bowl and whisk well to combine.
  • Remove 1/4 of a cup of the marinade and place in a small bowl and set aside.
  • Place flank steak in a large Ziploc bag and add marinade to the bag, seal to close.
  • Place the steak in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours. The longer you can marinate this, the better; I suggest marinating it overnight or even for up to 2 days.
  • To the remaining 1/4 cup of marinade you removed, add the balsamic vinegar, cover and set aside until you are ready to serve.
  • When ready to cook, heat your grill or grill pan, remove the steak from the bag and discard marinade.
  • Grill steak for 5-7 minutes per side depending on your desired doneness. Remove from the grill and cover with foil and let the steak rest for at least 5-10 minutes. The resting is VERY important, don’t skip this step!!
  • See the lines in the steak? The lines are the grain. DON’T cut the steak with the grain of the meat. Cut the steak thinly against the grain of the meat. That way, it will be tender and delicious! Pour the balsamic sauce over the steak and serve.

Out of This World Marinated Flank Steak: A Recipe for Romance (and Delicious Food!)

As a busy working mom, time is my most precious commodity. Finding quick, delicious, and impressive meals is crucial, and this marinated flank steak recipe has become a lifesaver (and a relationship saver, I might add!). The secret lies in the marinade – a symphony of savory soy sauce, rich Worcestershire, subtly sweet brown sugar, and fragrant garlic and green onions. It’s a marriage of flavors that transforms a simple flank steak into a culinary masterpiece.

I discovered this recipe while browsing through countless online culinary gems, desperately searching for something that would impress my husband after a particularly long and stressful week. I was skeptical at first – another steak recipe? But the rave reviews convinced me to give it a try. Let me tell you, the result was nothing short of spectacular. The marinade works its magic, tenderizing the steak beautifully and infusing it with a depth of flavor that is both sophisticated and comforting. Even my notoriously picky 10-year-old devoured it with enthusiasm. The prep is effortless - just toss the steak in the marinade, let it sit, and then grill.

Beyond the Grill: Versatile and Adaptable

What makes this recipe truly exceptional is its versatility. While grilling imparts a delicious smoky char, it’s equally delicious pan-fried, broiled, or even baked. I’ve experimented with all three methods, and each yields a slightly different texture and flavor profile. Pan-frying is great for a weeknight meal when I don’t want to fire up the grill. Broiling is a fantastic option for quick cooking, and the oven method is perfect for when the weather isn't cooperating. This recipe's adaptability is what truly sets it apart. It allows for creative freedom in the kitchen.

Serving Suggestions: Elevating the Everyday

I typically serve this stunning flank steak with a simple side salad and roasted vegetables. The combination of textures and flavors creates a truly satisfying and well-balanced meal. The balsamic glaze adds an extra layer of richness and complexity, creating a beautiful and tasty finish. For a more indulgent experience, serve it with creamy mashed potatoes or a decadent risotto. The possibilities are endless. I have even used the leftover marinade to create a fantastic sauce for pasta, proving just how resourceful this recipe truly is.

More Than Just a Meal: Creating Memories

This recipe is more than just a delicious meal; it's a way to create lasting memories. It’s a dish I make for special occasions and family gatherings. It's the kind of meal that sparks conversation and laughter. The look on my family's faces when they take their first bite is priceless. This recipe has become more than just a dinner staple; it's a source of joy and connection. It's a reminder that even in the midst of a busy life, there's always time for a delicious meal that brings people together.

Beyond the Plate: The Power of Flavor

The success of this recipe isn't just about the exceptional taste; it's about the ease of preparation and the guaranteed impressive results. It’s a recipe that empowers even the most novice cook to feel confident in the kitchen. It's a recipe that makes you feel like a culinary rockstar, even when you're just trying to get dinner on the table before bedtime. I’ve found that cooking doesn't just nourish the body; it nourishes the soul. And this flank steak recipe is a testament to that. So, try it, savor it, and enjoy the compliments that are sure to follow!

A final note: Don't forget to let the steak rest after grilling! This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a tender and flavorful outcome. Trust me on this one, it's a crucial step to perfection!
