Step-by-step

  • Load the ingredients into the machine and set the program for fresh dough (number 10 in the Kenwood). The dough will be ready in 1.5 hours. IMPORTANT: the ingredients should be placed in the bread machine in the exact order as listed above, liquids first.
  • Roll the dough over a well floured parchment paper and brush it with 55 grams of melted butter.
  • Cover it with the cinnamon mix.
  • Roll it and butter the outside with a pastry brush. The parchment paper will help to roll it and minimize the mess.
  • Using a baking tin, prepare the caramel with the brown sugar and the butter.
  • When the sugar and the butter form a foamy caramel, take it out of the stove and sprinkle with the chopped pecans.
  • Cut the dough into slices and put them around the baking tin. The size of the tin will depend if you want to have less but large cinnamon buns or many and smaller ones. If you use a large tin you will have to make a longer and thinner roll with the dough.
  • Let it rest for 1 hour, or overnight.
  • Bake in 180 C oven for 30 minutes.
  • As soon as they are ready, take them out of the oven and turn them upside down on the serving dish. This will allow the caramel and the butter to penetrate inside the buns making them nicely soft and gooey.

The aroma of freshly baked cinnamon buns – that's pure comfort food. There's something magical about the sweet, spicy scent that wafts through the kitchen, promising a delicious treat that's as heartwarming as a warm hug. For years, I’ve been experimenting with different recipes, trying to perfect my own version of this classic pastry. I've always loved baking, ever since I was a little girl watching my grandmother in her cozy kitchen, flour dusting her apron and her hands moving with a rhythm only a seasoned baker can achieve. Her cinnamon buns were legendary, and although I'll never quite match her skill, I've developed a recipe that brings back those cherished memories every time I bake them.

This recipe is more than just a collection of ingredients and instructions; it's a journey, a process that takes you from simple ingredients to a golden, glistening masterpiece. It's the satisfying feeling of kneading the dough, the anticipation as it rises, the subtle crackle of the caramel as it simmers on the stovetop, and finally, the joy of sharing these sweet treats with loved ones. It's about taking time, savoring the process, and connecting with something far greater than just the recipe itself. It's the love infused into each step, the patience invested in the process, that truly elevates these cinnamon buns from ordinary to extraordinary.

The first time I made these buns, I wasn't sure what to expect. It wasn't just about creating a delicious pastry; it was about the journey of creation, the transformation of simple ingredients into something truly special. And the taste? Oh, the taste! The tender, fluffy buns, the rich caramel sauce, the crunchy pecans – it was a symphony of flavors that perfectly captured the essence of comfort and indulgence.
