Step-by-step

  • Preheat the oven to 425.
  • Lightly mist a large baking sheet with cooking spray and set aside.
  • Pour some water into a small dish and set aside.
  • On a flat surface, place an egg roll wrapper, corner facing toward you (like a diamond) and spread a teaspoon of pizza sauce horizontally across the center of the wrapper, leaving ½ inch or so of space on each side.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of Italian seasoning across the sauce and add a row of 3 pepperoni slices over the sauce.
  • Place half a cheese stick on top of the pepperoni.
  • Fold the bottom corner closest to you up over the ingredients and give it a 90 degree roll.
  • Fold the side corners in and tuck them as you give the filled section another 90 degree roll.
  • Dip your finger in the dish or reserved water and lightly wet the edges of the remaining top corner of the wrapper.
  • Finish rolling the filled pizza log over the wet corner so that it adheres.
  • Place wrapped pizza log onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  • When all of the pizza logs are wrapped and on the baking sheets, mist the tops with cooking spray.
  • Bake for 10-14 minutes, flipping once halfway through, until the wrappers are golden brown.
Pizza Logs: A Quick and Easy Weeknight Snack

Pizza Logs: The Perfect After-School Treat (or Anytime Snack!)

As a busy mom, I'm always on the lookout for quick and easy recipes that the whole family will enjoy. Pizza is a staple in our house, but sometimes the thought of making a whole pizza feels overwhelming. That's where these amazing Pizza Logs come in! They're essentially mini pizzas wrapped up in convenient, crispy egg roll wrappers, and they're so simple to make. Even my kids can help with the assembly, making it a fun family activity.

The best part? You probably already have most of the ingredients in your pantry. This recipe is incredibly adaptable too. Feel free to experiment with different toppings – add some chopped veggies like bell peppers or onions, try different cheeses, or even swap out the pepperoni for other meats like sausage. The possibilities are endless!

These Pizza Logs are perfect for after-school snacks, game day munchies, or even a fun appetizer for a party. They're much healthier than your average frozen pizza option, and because you're using egg roll wrappers, the outside is nice and crispy, creating a delicious textural contrast with the melty cheese and flavorful pepperoni. The kids love them, my husband loves them, and let's be honest, I love them too!

Tips and Tricks for Pizza Log Success:

  • Don't overfill the egg roll wrappers. Too much filling will make them difficult to roll and might cause them to burst in the oven.
  • Use a light hand with the cooking spray. Too much spray can make them greasy.
  • Keep an eye on them while they're baking. Ovens vary, so the baking time might need to be adjusted slightly depending on your oven's heat.
  • Get creative with toppings! Experiment with different cheeses, meats, and vegetables to find your family's favorite combination.

Beyond the Snack: Pizza Logs for Every Occasion

While these Pizza Logs are fantastic as an everyday snack, their versatility extends far beyond that. Imagine serving them at a kids' party – they’re far more fun than typical party food! They’re also surprisingly elegant as an appetizer for a casual get-together with friends. Just arrange them on a platter with a simple dipping sauce, and you have a crowd-pleasing treat. And for a busy weeknight dinner, you could easily double or triple the recipe and serve them alongside a side salad for a complete and satisfying meal.

The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity and adaptability. It's a recipe that truly grows with you. As your family's tastes change, so can the fillings in your pizza logs. You can cater them to seasonal ingredients, or simply use whatever you have on hand, making them a wonderfully spontaneous addition to any meal. So ditch the takeout and give these Pizza Logs a try. You won't regret it!
