Step-by-step

  • Brown the ground sausage in a skillet, adding minced garlic and diced onions.
  • In a separate pot, add chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  • Wash and cut potatoes into slices, then quartering the slices. Leave the skin on! Add to chicken broth and boil until tender.
  • Combine the sausage mix into the pot with potatoes. Allow to come to a simmer again, then add evaporated milk. (Optional: You may also decide to add about a handful or so of cale leaves at this time.) Stir soup well and allow to simmer for another 10 minutes.
  • Serve and enjoy!
  • Garnish with fresh parmesan cheese and bacon bits, and serve with bread sticks or fresh bread!
