Step-by-step

  • Combine 1 well-beaten egg, 1/2 cup cornmeal, 1/2 cup self-rising flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, 1/2 cup milk, and 2 tablespoons melted butter or margarine in a large mixing bowl. Mix until smooth.
  • Dip hot dogs into batter and drain. (I used a metal rack for draining.)
  • Fry in hot oil (350 to 375 degrees) 2 to 3 minutes, or until golden brown on all sides.
  • Drain on paper towels, and then place hot corn dogs on a serving plate.
  • You may insert wooden sticks, in order to serve the corn dogs without messing up any dishes, or provide small plates and forks.
  • Serve with dipping mustard.

As a housewife, I'm always looking for quick and easy recipes that my family will love. These Super Bowl Corn Dogs are the perfect snack for game day or any other occasion. They're made with just a few simple ingredients and can be ready in under 30 minutes.

The best part about these corn dogs is that they're customizable. You can use your favorite type of hot dog, and you can adjust the spices in the batter to your liking. I like to add a little extra salt and pepper to mine, but you can also add garlic powder, onion powder, or any other spices that you like. These corn dogs are also a great way to use up leftover hot dogs. If you have any hot dogs left over from a cookout or party, you can simply slice them up and dip them in the batter.
